~ Anna Holmes of Flowers by Anna ~
October 2, 2018
Anna gave the club a presentation this past
Tuesday which was enlightening to all!
From the more traditional high cylinder floral
design with hydrangeas, ornamental kale, and a
variety of wild flowers, to the Hostess Gifts of
small cut-out pumpkins containing plants,
Anna provided helpful hints on how to use every
day greenery to make a stunning floral statement.
Using a ceramic container, she artistically placed three flowers to represent
Heaven, Man and Earth in the Ikebana design.
For the silk arrangement she utilized an old spray painted lantern to which she added hydrangea, berries, ivy, dusty miller and tea lights to make a centerpiece perfect even for a wedding.
The final presentation was a round, lined bushel basket. Using floral foam to build height, she added a 6 inch cypress and surrounded it with 4 inch mums, ornamental kale and pumpkins, finished with a raffia bow and perfect for your front door step!
And the best part came when we raffled them off and 6 lucky people went home with these beautiful creations!
