The West Dennis Garden Club has long encouraged learning about and caring for our natural environment.  Since 1961 the Club has offered scholarships to students to further their education in environmental studies at institutions of higher learning.

Currently the Garden Club offers a $1,500 scholarship to a graduating senior at the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School who chooses to pursue a degree in environmental, agricultural studies, horticulture, or related field at a four-year college or university.

Application forms for this scholarship can be obtained in the Guidance Office.  The applications are reviewed by the Garden Club Scholarship Committee, and the recipient of the scholarship is notified of their award in May.  It is disbursed after the recipient completes their first semester with a GPA of not less than 2.5.

The Garden Club also offers a $1,000 toolship scholarship to a graduating senior from Cape Cod Regional Technical High School who enters the workforce directly from high school and chooses a career in horticulture or a related field. The application for this scholarship can be obtained in the Guidance Office.

A third $1,000 scholarship is sponsored by the West Dennis Garden Club and funded by the Dorothy Trapp family.  It is awarded to a student who plans to pursue a career in education.
